At this training event, you will learn the fundamentals of the income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet.

Participants will engage in a hands-on, scenario-based learning experience of a service-based company that demonstrates how to read, interpret, and use financial statements to make better business decisions. This session builds financial literacy and highlights how day-to-day choices impact overall financial performance.

Chrystal Irons

Chrystal Irons is the Director of Business Support and Training and the Director, Missouri SBDC at Missouri State University. Prior to being named to this position in May of 2016, she served as the county program director and business development specialist for the University of Missouri Extension, as well as the Missouri SBDC. Certified as a coach by the Blue Mesa Group, Chrystal is designated as an Economic Development Finance Professional, and has served as a board examiner for the Excellence in Missouri Foundation for the Missouri Quality Award. Chrystal has been a recipient of the SBDC-celebrated Missouri State Star Award, as well as the Associated Industries of Missouri Extension Industry Award for the professional and educational support for the economic viability of Missouri businesses. Chrystal began providing one-on-one assistance and educational training to business owners and entrepreneurs in southwest Missouri in 2010. Her expertise includes QuickBooks coaching; strategic business planning; financial analysis, management, and projection; business workshop facilitation, and personal experience as a small business owner and entrepreneur of the past 18 years. Chrystal has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Drury University in Springfield, MO.
